Most of our squad of players joined us at the start of the 2006/07 as Under 7's. A number came through the club's association with Planet Soccer and others signing up at our open day.
For this first season together we did not play in a competitive league. Instead we trained each week and as the season progressed, played some friendly matches. In the summer of 2007 we played a number of tournaments to give the squad extra match experience ahead of joining the Surrey Primary League in the 2007/08 season.
Other players joined during our 2006/07 season, with a few extra players joining early this season. We now have a squad of 22 players from which we run two teams, the Eagles and the Falcons.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
